We’re going on a ballet of flavors with the 2019 14 Hands Merlot today. It’s made from Merlot grapes that have grown in the Columbia Valley in Washington State, a place where grapes perform their own dance, growing and maturing under the sun and stars.
The color of this Merlot is as deep and intriguing as the plot of an adventure novel I just can’t put down. It draws you in, making you eager to discover its story.
Sniffing this wine is like opening a treasure chest of art supplies. There’s the sweet scent of black cherries and blackberries, bright and inviting like vibrant watercolor paints. And there’s a hint of cocoa and spice, familiar and comforting like my favorite set of colored pencils.
From what I’ve heard, tasting this wine is like finishing a particularly challenging chapter in a book. You’ve got the burst of sweet berries that’s as satisfying as solving the riddles in an adventure story. Then, there’s a sprinkle of spice and cocoa that adds complexity, just like the twists and turns in a suspenseful plot.
The finish is smooth and rounded, much like the final graceful pose at the end of a ballet performance. It leaves a warm, slightly spicy taste that lingers, kind of like the applause and the feeling of achievement when the curtain falls.
When it comes to pairing this wine with food, I think a hearty steak or a rich mushroom pizza would be a perfect duet. The flavors would complement each other, creating a harmonious ballet of tastes on your palate.
That’s the 2019 14 Hands Merlot for you. I’m looking forward to taking you through our next wine adventure!
